How to build awesome machines using affordable components.
My aim is simple, to bring easy to re-create projects whilst keeping the cost low. By designing custom 3D printable components as much as possible, it means that if you have access to a 3D printer, you'll already have most of the parts you need just a print away.

🤣🤣🤣🤣 Dude, 5-7mm of exposed wire inserted into the female terminal is WAY too long!! You only need about 3mm.... 4mm MAX! You've inserted the wire all the way up into the pin socket (or "tunnel section" as you refer to it), which is going to crush the wire resulting in an unreliable connection with whatever pin you're inserting it onto! This is all besides the fact that most of these Chinese knockoff crimpers are going to end up crushing the entire thing anyways. For any beginners, it's going to take a bit of trial & error to figure out the best die and/or pressure needed to make these terrible crimpers do a decent job of producing a reliable working connector.
I was able to reproduce this using your stl files and the pcb from PCBWay, it works great, thank you! The only problem I am having is the 10 cm connector wires between the triangles at times are almost too short. I have one connection that constantly works its way loose, causing all the triangles after it to blink and flash erratically. I have reassembled the connections a few times, but so far the problem continues. I need to take it down again to figure out a permanent fix for one pesky connection. Other than that I really enjoyed this project.
its a great work but me personally i dont like the result to be able to see each single LED. The solution would be to create more distance between the LED and the top layer. beside that its really nice.
I was actually planning on doing such a project in the future but just came across yours 😍. Long time subscriber by the way. I have no idea how I missed this project 😅. I will make sure to go through all of your content to see what I missed out on 😅. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, experience and passion with us, you are AWESOME ❤.
will start this project soon as I have 80% of the parts already from a previous CNC Machine build note: check out "V1 Engineering " for DIY Lowrider CNC machine
Im on a mission to build a scoreboard for cornhole. 1 two-digit section for each team and a few buttons ( +1 for each side, reset to clear all score back to 0, and maybe -1 to fix a score) But code is not my thing and I was hoping you would go over the code for this project so I could get some idea of what im up against. Ive done VERY little with raspberry pi, and never used an arduino. so im starting at square 1. Cool video and you have some awesome talents. If you have any suggestions for getting started with arduino code or more info about the code you used in this project (that a total noob can understand) id love to take a look
@DIY Machines I finished this project can you make this chess using magnetic sensor will you make such a video please make a chess board using magnetic sensor
One could probably save some time by using Inkscape to convert the picture to SVG and importing that to Fusion 360. Inkscape has a very good built in autotracer for converting pixel images to vectors. Even some online converters do decent jobs.
I gotta say, they look amazing!! Specially the Fallout one! :))
Thank you, the Fallout one was the last one I made for this video and it was a suggested design idea by a friend. I'm really happy how it turned out and I gifted it to them to say thanks.
Невероятные красивые работы с инструкцией к повторению. Это прекрасно!
Всегда пожалуйста. Спасибо, что посмотрели и поделились добрыми словами
brilliant
Thank you
I’m always so happy when you post a video. Every project is so unique, and you explain everything in such a nice way. Thank you for your efforts
You are so welcome! Thank you.
Thanks for sharing 👍
No problem 👍
that's such an awesome idea
I've had a great time making these, and they've made for some good gifts as well.🙂
What a detailed and happy explanation, the idea is really good. You have put a serious effort into each of your videos, it is very successful and admirable. Thanks a lot for this video.
Thank you very much for your kind words. It's really motivating. 😊
I wonder how UV cure resin would work? Eliminating the time crunch.
That's an interesting idea. I imagine as long as the rapid curing didn't generate too much heat and deform the printed parts then this would be much quicker. If I ever find myself in position of UV curing resin I'll try it out.
I think smaller models would work well
great idea!
Thank you! Cheers!
Let me know any good ideas you have for additional designs buy replying to this post and I will create the models for the most liked suggestions for everyone to use! 😁
When I charge the speaker, the voltmeter doesn't turn on. Help!
Awesome video! but I'd like to know how to change the pen.How did it change by hand? please answer me😍
Very inspirational. I'd be wary of automating it for when the house is not occupied as there is no fail safe mode (limit switches, over current detection, motor temp cutout etc) And very nice use of a custom printed enclosure to protect and hide the gubbins behind the fabric. However it fails on the WAF, there is no way I could use such noisy motors in my house. I think it may be caused by the cheap and cheerful motor drives, maybe a Trinamic based drive would quieten things down.
Do you have the schematic for this? Thanks!
Thank you very much, finally a video of this type that leaves the files in 3D. Greetings from Chile
but theres no drainage holes for the plant
I want to buy a kit, but I'm unable to ship to the US off your website. Can you please advise?
Just finished this project and it works well ... as long as it is plugged in. Once disconnected and repowered, it does not correct itself to the current time. It displays the time when disconnected and then goes forward from there. I have checked the wiring twice, replaced three DS3231 units and replaced the battery to no avail. Both batteries are new and measured 3VDC. The required libraries are installed and current. I verified the code is the same between the Electromaker website and my IDE. I’m missing something. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.
why not use esp32 ?
Very well done..thank you
Thanks, Lewis, for the video. Are the laser cut files on Etsy as well?
Curious as to how long will this operate on full chrage? Thanks!
Liked and subscribed for the timing belt assembly
Arduino nano codes please...

Firstly and fore mostly: thank you. Been trying to get a GC9A01 round LCD to work with a logic level shifter and couldn't get it to work. Pulling OE high as per your video worked first time. Thank you :)
Great to hear and you're welcome.
Can I replace the 18650 Lithium Ion Batteries with rechargeable AA Batteries?
I love it ❤❤❤😊🎉

Nice - of course it would be even cooler if the mirror was a touchscreen (I know that that is probably either super expensive and/or hard to accomplish!) and if it could do seamless change-over between two of them (so say you are listening to the news while brushing your teeth in the bathroom and leave to put on clothes in the bedroom and the bedroom mirror seamlessly plays the news there) :) I also don't like (note: I know, for someone who is not actually DIYing much, I sure "complain" a lot!) that you covered up so many cables (and the LEDs - can't easily replace them if they were to go bad, which does happen!) etc. (it will make upgrading/changing this thing way harder)...then again, visible cables never annoyed me! I frankly think people who always try to hide cables are strange!
Is it possible to crimp two wires into one connector to make a Y-split?
You just got me a possible new obsession 😂
Hi mate I’m in the uk, just find your channel it’s great, after I download the file to print is it possible to make it deeper ? Could you please make the frame 80mm and even I can make a donation, can I please get your email address
brilliant
what font did you use for the signs in fusion 360?
that's awesome!
Could I use tcrt5000 as analog input like potantiometer?
After watching this video 2-1/2 time I was able to crimp all six end points of my custom 3-core cable in one go. How good is this video 🙂
How to compile C file arduino uno project?
Hi there, I would like to purchase your diy kit. But how can I customise it to use a 10" speaker?
hi great tutorial! i would like to make are large version of this - is it possible to upscale it 2m x 2m sizing or even 3m? and how long would it take to create a drawing of this size? and can you use natural sand with it also rather than craft sand?
Subbed thank you 👍
Thanks for the sub!
